WELCOME TO VILLA VALLOMBROSA
La Villa Vallombrosa is one of the finest vineyards in Provence dating back to the Roman times as evidenced by the artefacts found in the grounds of the vineyard which can be traced back to Rome circa AD 160 to 180.
The first vines cultivated in France were in Provence. Our wine estate has got two-thousand years of history.
This vineyard has kept over the years the authenticity and the typical expression of its terroir . Its vines existing since the Roman Empire express the virtues of lime stone soil from the Trias Age together with the influences of red soil from the Permian Age.
The alliance between these two differents terroirs allows the production of great rosé wines with beautiful richness and structure brought by the soil from the Permian Age, along with a lovely minerality that comes from the Schistes of the Massif des Maures, giving to the wine freshness and elegance.
The expertise of Villa Vallombrosa starts with the grape harvest when grapes like Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Cinsault are carefully picked once they have reached the perfect maturity, parcel by parcel, in order to achieve an ideal blending of the grapes for our prestigious Grand Vin Vallombrosa.
While visiting Villa Vallombrosa, in the heart of the vineyard, you will appreciate the quality of its great Rosé wine, in which you will feel the complexity, the long lasting aromas and the beautiful finesse which are prerogative of wines coming from exceptional terroirs.
The expression of its fruity and mineral aromas enable you to accompany the wine with Mediterranean cuisine in any circumstances.
